Please note definition differences between Intern and Co-op:

Intern:  Student works full-time during the summer

Co-op:  Student works part-time while school is in session. Student may work more hours during the summer if not enrolled in classes. Students may work for a minimum of one semester or longer.

 

Both positions are paid according to current academic standing and job classification.

Location: Canton , MI

 

What we are looking for:

Yazaki is looking for a motivated Summer Intern to join our GM Quality team in Canton, MI.  The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, results-oriented environment and is eager to make meaningful contributions to the organization. This internship runs full-time from May 12, 2025, to August 15, 2025.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Project Work: Design and develop a robust database system that streamlines the tracking of Failure Modes, Corrective Actions, and 8D reports while ensuring alignment with Yazaki standards and providing actionable insights.
  • Success Metrics: The proposed database will serve as a centralized platform to manage and analyze data related to product failures, corrective actions, and problem-solving initiatives (e.g., 8D). The database will also incorporate links to relevant Yazaki Global standards to ensure compliance and provide automated tools to generate potential shortlists for decision-making.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with your assigned mentor or technical advisor.

 

What you will bring to the table:

  • Education: Enrollment in a 4-year degree program at an accredited institution during the internship period.
  • Relevant Background: Degree/experience related to the position business, computer science, organizational studies, social studies, information science or related field.
  • Academic Standing: A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Commitment: Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks between May 12, 2025, and August 15, 2025
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with databases and AI knowledge is a plus
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities.
