Join the team at Lincoln Academy and help shape the future—one student at a time.
We’re currently seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher Assistants to support classrooms in 4th grade (2 positions), 6th grade Computer Science, and across our Junior High team (3 positions). If you love working with students, enjoy fast-paced school environments, and want to make a daily impact, this is the opportunity for you.
About the Role
As a Teacher Assistant, you’ll work side-by-side with lead educators to enhance instruction, support classroom management, and build meaningful relationships with students. Whether guiding a small reading group, helping with tech during a computer science lesson, or encouraging teamwork on the playground, you’ll be a vital part of our students’ daily success.
Key Responsibilities
- Support classroom instruction by assisting with lessons, managing behavior, and supervising student activities.
- Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce academic concepts and build skills.
- Provide classroom coverage when teachers are absent, using prepared materials and adapting as needed.
- Help prepare, organize, and manage instructional materials and classroom resources.
- Supervise and ensure student safety during non-instructional times (lunch, recess, carpool).
- Assist students with special needs or learning plans (IEPs, 504s), following teacher guidance.
- Foster a respectful, engaging, and supportive learning environment.
- Reinforce Lincoln Academy’s policies regarding dress code, behavior, and safety.
- Guide families through the carpool process (morning or afternoon shifts as assigned).
Typical Day: 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM
You’ll be actively engaged with students throughout the school day—transitioning smoothly between classroom, lunchroom, recess duty, and carpool—all while modeling professionalism and positivity.
Examples of Day-to-Day Decisions You May Make:
- Redirect student behavior during recess or carpool.
- Adjust activities or timing during sub coverage based on student needs.
- Assign lunchroom seating or clean-up tasks as needed.
- Contact parents if a student is sick or injured.
- Refer students for dress code or behavior concerns.
- Submit tech/facility support tickets.
- Shorten recess in case of bad weather.
We’re Looking for Candidates Who Are:
- Student-focused, responsible, and team-oriented.
- Flexible and confident in adapting to different classrooms or grade levels.
