GBS
The Director of Client Solutions (DCS) chief responsibility is to effectively communicate the Voluntary Benefits (VB) value proposition in new business and renewal finalist meetings. The DCS has an exceptionally strong understanding of Accidental Injury, Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity solutions. The DCS also has the ability to articulate how the aligned tactics and resources drive strong outcomes for our clients and financial security for their employees.
The role is responsible for leading new business sales presentations for large Regional clients (1k+ lives) and National Account clients (5k+ lives) with a focus on operational process, customer and client experience, and how experience is influenced by an evolving technology in the marketplace (including integration with benefit administration vendors).
The DCS role is also responsible for serving as a liaison between distribution and claims and negotiating custom claim process, reporting, or other administrative solutions to ensure that a superior product and experience is delivered to New York Life Group Benefit Solutions (NYL GBS) clients.
Responsibilities:
- Support regional and national accounts in finalist meeting delivery on new business, renewal, and upsell opportunities
- Participate in broker capability meetings in partnership with distribution to drive the NYL GBS VB value proposition in the market; specific focus on operational process
- Review prospective client data to help plot out finalist meeting strategy that showcases how the GBS claim model will influence program outcomes
- Propose marketing slides and presentation approach in preparation for finalist meetings
- Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor on the topics of Voluntary Benefits administration for the distribution team
- Act in the role of a liaison between distribution and claims and by influencing change that balances client/market needs with organizational capabilities
- Provide insights on how VB contract provisions and/or process may influence program outcomes
- Engage in complex new business implementations to provide consultative support on operational process and develop appropriate solutions
- Build and develop strong relationships with matrix partners
- Lead projects and initiatives in support of service, operational excellence, and providing consistent, positive client experiences
- The DCS may also be called upon to articulate the value proposition and experience for other lines of group coverage, including Disability and Absence
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree preferred
- 7+ years of industry experience in group benefits with track record of growth in roles across the claim, leave, service operations and/or account management space
- Required product knowledge: Accidental Injury, Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity
- Preferred product knowledge: Disability, FMLA, PFML, Life, AD&D
- Proven record of presenting in high-stakes environment, including to C-suite
- Highly collaborative individual with ability to influence others at all levels and build strong professional relationships
- Experience with benefit administration vendor technology, APIs
- Experience developing client and producer relationships, preferably within the insurance industry
- Industry experience that allows for broad perspective of customers’ needs and marketplace challenges
- Travel required up to 50%

Salary range: $115,000-$175,000
Overtime eligible: Exempt
