HOW YOU WILL IMPACT OUR MISSION
The Merchandise Sales Clerk is committed to the department's mission and vision of providing the finest customer service to each guest by actively engaging in meaningful guest encounters. They perform a variety of duties to ensure a positive experience to our guests. This position reports to a Manager.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
• Sells merchandise items
• Explains related history of merchandise
• Demonstrates operation of appropriate merchandise
• Cleans and maintains sales displays and sales area
• Keeps sales items in stock and on display
• Orders above items as necessary and maintains an inventory
• Keeps prices clearly posted and updated
• Assists merchandise buyer
• Registers sales
• Makes change
• Opens and closes registers
• Rents and maintains strollers and wheelchairs
• Provides information to the public or directs to a knowledgeable
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The San Diego Zoo Safari Park Retail Operations team is seeking candidates with top-notch interpersonal skills to provide a world-class guest experience. Candidates with problem solving skills to identify practical solutions and teamwork skills to work well with others are highly desirable Applicants must be at least 16 years old to be considered for the position.

Please note if you are selected for this role, you will be required to complete the Responsible Beverage Service Training (RBS) within 60 days of your hire date. Training will be provided to you by the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance and completed on site.
