Position Summary
The Project Controls V professional leads cost engineering and project controls functions for large and complex projects. This expert-level role is responsible for developing and implementing cost control procedures, producing detailed cost estimates, and driving budget forecasting and variance analysis. The individual collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to manage financial performance, identify cost-saving strategies, and ensure transparency in cost reporting. This role requires demonstrated expertise in cost management systems, Primavera P6 scheduling, and the ability to mentor junior staff while providing strategic input across project portfolios.
The Project Controls V professional will serve in an advisory capacity on a major airport redevelopment program, guiding how budgets, costs, and financial controls are structured and managed across a dynamic portfolio of aviation projects. This role oversees the financial health of multiple concurrent efforts, including terminal upgrades, airside and landside infrastructure, and supporting facilities, while working closely with airport authority leadership and external stakeholders. The individual will lead the development of program-wide cost control processes, establish governance protocols, and implement near real-time live updates on project performance. Aviation experience is essential, and a PMP is preferred, as this role will provide strategic insight and executive-level reporting to drive data-informed decisions and ensure proactive risk management throughout the program lifecycle.

Position Responsibilites
- Leads cost management and control functions across multiple large-scale projects.
- Develops and refines advanced cost control procedures, tools, and documents.
- Utilizes cost management software and Primavera P6 with expert proficiency.
- Produces comprehensive cost estimates at both summary and detailed levels.
- Prepares project cash flows and maintains EAC (Estimate at Completion) projections.
- Reviews and integrates contract requirements into project cost deliverables.
- Identifies cost trends, anomalies, and variances; conducts root cause analysis.
- Conducts and leads cost management sessions with diverse stakeholder groups.
- Develops what-if scenarios and supports forecasting with minimal guidance.
- Communicates cost performance to technical and non-technical stakeholders through clear, insightful reports.
- Applies and adapts common and advanced cost analysis methodologies as appropriate.
- Collaborates on change order review processes, including time and cost impacts.
- Reviews and updates project schedules and cost data across portfolios.
- Supports integration of cost and schedule data and prepares custom reports.
- Mentors junior project controls team members in cost and schedule best practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in project controls, including schedule and cost management.
- Demonstrated expertise in Primavera P6 and cost control software systems.
- Deep knowledge of cost estimating methods and cost management lifecycle.
- Proven ability to develop, manage, and analyze complex project schedules and budgets.
- Skilled in conducting schedule reviews and applying effective scheduling practices.
- Ability to lead work sessions, deliver presentations, and communicate with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with data export, reporting customization, and schedule-cost integration.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring others and supporting staff development.
- An equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered in lieu of stated minimum qualifications.
- Location and Commitments
- Overtime work may be required occasionally to ensure certain deliverables are completed on time.
- Weekend work is rare but occasionally may be necessary.
