Re:Car, a subsidiary of Re:Build Manufacturing, is a new company that is exploring development in the electric vehicle space.

 

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer with a visionary approach to lead our software development in the electric vehicle space. Reporting directly to the Head of Digital, you will focus on defining and building our digital customer experience. You must be able to thrive and succeed in a fast-paced startup environment where your contributions have a direct impact on the company’s direction and success, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This is a high visibility, high impact role that will interact with all levels of leadership across Re:Car.

• You lead the definition, design, architecture, implementation, and delivery of Re:Car software.
• You lead code and design reviews, contributing both yourself.
• You own end-to-end code quality, system tests, functional tests, and integration.
• You relentlessly simplify, demonstrating significant innovation, creativity, and judgement when solving challenging problems.
• You collaborate with UX and product teams to build and invent new solutions and applications that put customers first.
• You are considered an authority on technical issues by the technical and business community, advising on significant technical decisions that impact the company's bottom line and even its future.
• You empower multiple engineering teams, gain the trust of their stakeholders, communicate with senior management, and influence through credibility rather than authority.
• You assist in the career development of others, actively mentoring individuals and the community on advanced technical issues and helping managers guide the career growth of their team members.

 

What you bring to the team

• 10+ years of professional software development experience
• 8+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++
• 8+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
• Experience in full-stack mobile development- android /iOS or modern web browsers and services mainly in Java in a Linux or Unix environment

Base salary - US wide: $159,741 - $266,236

The stated pay scale reflects the range that Re:Car reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.  In addition to base pay, Re:Car also offers short-term and long-term incentive programs – 401k match, annual bonus and company equity, based on eligibility, along with a robust offering of benefit and wellness plans, HSA/FSA.
