The post holder will work alongside CF and Respiratory staff to develop pathways of care and lead out on service developments within the Physiotherapy Department and wider multidisciplinary team. The post holder may be required to cross cover into the wider respiratory service in the Physiotherapy Dept.</p> <p><strong> </strong></p> <h2>Responsibilities</h2> <p> </p> <p><strong><u>Operational</u></strong></p> <p> </p> <p>The Senior Physiotherapist will:</p> <p>·         In collaboration with the physiotherapy team, be responsible for developing, organising, implementing and evaluating the physiotherapy service in the Beaumont Hospital</p> <p>·         Contribute to service provision planning and delivery of care across the broad physiotherapy team, with specific focus on service provision within own physiotherapy service. </p> <p>·         Ensure a safe working environment for patients and staff at all times, and read and act upon all issued staff policies.</p> <p>·         Assess and manage risk in their assigned area(s) of responsibility.</p> <p>·         Take the appropriate timely action to manage any incidents or near misses within their assigned area(s).</p> <p>·         Report any deficiency/danger in any aspect of the service to the team or Physiotherapy Manager as appropriate.</p> <p>·         Be accountable for the budget, where relevant.</p> <p>·         Carry out the duties of a Senior Physiotherapist in the hospital and at such other locations as may be required by the Chief Executive or designated officer. The Senior Physiotherapist may be expected to rotate between St. Joseph’s Hospital, Raheny, and Beaumont Hospital.</p> <p>·         To provide expert advice and guidance for other healthcare professionals, patients and carers. </p> <p>·         To carry a caseload of patients who have been referred to the Physiotherapy Department. </p> <p>·         The post holder will attend relevant departmental and multidisciplinary meetings and will be involved in strategic planning for patients referred to the Physiotherapy Department.</p> <p>·         Ensure that the Physiotherapy Manager is informed on an on-going basis about matters, clinical and otherwise, affecting the running of the specialist area.</p> <p>·         Record clinical and non-clinical activity data for the service, and submit monthly data reports as stipulated by the physiotherapy manager. It is also necessary to prepare an annual service plan and service report to be submitted to the physiotherapy manager. </p> <p> </p> <p><strong><u>Professional</u></strong></p> <p> </p> <p>The Senior Physiotherapist will:</p> <p>·         Ensure that a high standard of physiotherapy assessment and treatment is provided for all patients within his/her area of responsibility.</p> <p>·         Demonstrate evidence based practice through the process of clinical reasoning and decision making, allowing knowledge to be applied to complex/different situations.</p> <p>·         Ensure that all requests for physiotherapy treatment within his/her speciality are allocated to appropriate staff, and liaise with relevant medical staff for maximum effectiveness of treatment, discharge and follow up. </p> <p>·         Maintain patient records and to collect statistics as required by the department and service and in accordance with departmental, hospital and professional standards.</p> <p>·         Contribute to business planning and business cases.</p> <p>·         Liaise with staff of other disciplines in providing multi-disciplinary services for certain groups of patients.</p> <p>·         Liaise with services outside the hospital to provide continuing care for patients.  </p> <p>·         Comply with the delivery of standards in the assessment, treatment and management of patients in line with international best practice guidelines. </p> <p>·         Promote a culture that values diversity and respect in the workplace.</p> <p>·         Provide sup
