The Assistant Branch Service Officer provides a broad variety of services including servicing existing accounts opening new business and consumer accounts and performing teller transactions. Contribute to the efficient and effective operations of the Branch while upholding the bank’s core values, core competencies and service standards. Provide exceptional customer service and support to expand and retain customer relationships, and promote all bank products by cross selling financial services to customers. Assist the Branch Service Officer in providing supervision and leadership direction for staff to accomplish strategic goals and objectives of the bank.

Supervises: Non-exempt operational staff

Requirements


  • Provide friendly, courteous and professional communication support, including responding to incoming telephone calls, electronic mail and voice mail.
  • Assist BSO in motivating a high-performance branch team to accomplish strategic goals and objectives of the bank.
  • Responsible for performing primary new account duties and teller relief as necessary to ensure excellent customer service by handling all monetary transactions for customers, (i.e. deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, check cashing, opening new accounts, misc.).
  • Interviews potential consumers, makes quality loan recommendations or loan decisions based on lending authority, prepare all loan documentation and loan follow-up.
  • Meet Company “Teller Balancing Requirements” to assure accurate cash handling in the service to our customers and minimize time and effort to locate outages.
  • Assist BSO in managing the selection, placement, performance, development, promotion, and termination of branch staff.
  • Assist BSO in scheduling, prioritizing work flow and assigning staff to cover customer traffic and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Uses active listening skills to determine customer needs to sell and cross-sell bank services in the branch and local community by developing rapport with people to establish strong customer relationships.
  • Develop and implement relationship strategies for cross-selling bank products and services by satisfying customer needs through a full array of deposit, cash management, merchant bankcard and other appropriate bank product and services.
  • Provide products and services education, assistance, research, support, and problem resolution, as needed, in a professional and timely manner to our customers and employees.
  • Make recommendations regarding job performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
  • Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the bank through well defined expectations, policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to bank security policy and procedures and provide assistance to the BSO during testing, maintenance and operation of security devices.
  • Adhere to the Bank’s CIP, BSA and related security procedures plus any pertinent State or Federal laws and regulations.
  • Consistently make productive use of your time, manage and complete all primary daily duties assigned in a timely manner and ask for additional assignments or assist others.
  • Attend Personal Banker meetings as required.
  • Perform special projects or other duties as directed by BSO and senior management.

  • Must be able to work within and foster a team environment, while effectively managing own work load and those of team.
  • Knowledgeable of regulatory and compliance laws and procedures.
  • Familiarity with Deposit Products and Bank services.
