Summary
The Project Engineer is accountable for evaluating project requirements, preparing quotes/proposals, closing sales and being a primary resource for our customers and internal personnel for project related actions. This role is the central point of contact on technical diamond wire and diamond core drilling projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

- Gather technical data and understand the project in its entirety.
- Responsible for maintaining the IQ & Job list in File Maker Pro.
- Develop quotes for diamond wire and diamond core drilling projects and submit to customers.
- Create detailed technical proposals, highlighting our unique capabilities and services.
- Develop initial cut plan and/or set-up plan sketches (CAD, 3D, etc.) for customer proposals and internal project planning.
- Discuss quotes with customers and close sales.
- Be a technical resource for several aspects of operations, including but not limited to, mobilization/demobilization, training, and safety.
- Schedule and attend project kick-off meetings and lead discussions alongside the Technical Process Coordinator to ensure a safe and smooth project start.
- Organize and attend post-job meetings with the GM, Technical Process Coordinator and lead field technicians to develop lessons learned for continuous improvement.
- Attend weekly scheduling meetings and speak to the current status of the projects that fall under your specific area.
- Proactively develop sales leads with new and existing customers.
- Assist the Business Development Manager / Sales with following up on project inquiries and closing sales.
- Occasionally travel to project sites to kick-off highly technical projects with IPM field technician crew(s).
- Travel to visit key customers, attend trade shows or CSDA meetings.
- Receive calls from field technicians that are experiencing technical difficulties to work through problem solving the situation.
- Receive calls from the customer to assist with technical guidance of our work.
- Raise awareness of highly technical projects and assist with staffing projects with the correct skillsets to ensure the project is successful.
- Communicate with the lead shop technician to assist with prioritizing shop work related to project specific mock-ups, training, mobs/demobs.
- Assist in coordinating training for technicians for upcoming work.
- Assist GM with continuous improvement.
Requirements
Qualifications

Education
· Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline desired, or equivalent technical experience.
Experience & Skills
10+ years of diamond wire sawing and diamond core drilling experience. Specifically, this position requires:
- Experience with mechanical assembly or trades type environment
- Solid mechanical aptitude
- Expertise with diamond wire cutting equipment and operations.
- Expertise with diamond core drilling equipment and operations.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment problems and perform routine maintenance tasks.
- Knowledge and understanding of the different types, applications, and sizes of diamond wire.
- Basic computer based skills, such as e-mail, outlook, Microsoft excel, word, etc.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, production schedules, purchase orders, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such the fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as basic math, layout functions, fractions, decimals, angles, percentages and ratios.
Reasoning Ability
