About the role

Overview

We are seeking a Hospital Maintenance Supervisor, also referred to as our Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, Building Services Supervisor or Plant Operations Supervisor. The Plant Operations Supervisor is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the hospital’s physical infrastructure, ensuring that all facilities, equipment, and systems operate safely and efficiently to support patient care and hospital operations. The Plant Operations Supervisor will supervise all work related to the physical plant and ancillary systems, engineering, and safety.

 

Shift’s Available:  Days

Employment Type: Full Time

Hours: 8-hour shifts 

Location: St John's Hospital – Leavenworth, KS

Responsibilities

** The Supervisor serves as the liaison between the Medical Center and contracted personnel or vendors performing facilities-related work while presenting a positive image of the hospital to patients, visitors, physicians, and the public.**

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

  • Supervise Maintenance Staff - Manage and coordinate maintenance technicians and support staff including scheduling training and performance management
  • Facility Maintenance and Repairs - Oversee routine and emergency repairs of electrical plumbing HVAC and mechanical systems to maintain a safe and functional environment
  • Preventive Maintenance - Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and extend asset life
  • Safety and Compliance - Ensure all maintenance activities comply with hospital policies safety standards and regulatory requirements such as OSHA and Joint Commission
  • Coordination and Communication - Collaborate with clinical facilities and administrative departments to prioritize maintenance needs and minimize disruptions to patient care
  • Budget and Inventory Management - Manage maintenance budgets track supplies and order equipment and parts as needed

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have: 

  • Basic HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boilers, hazardous material and safety management experience
  • Management experience
  • Valid state driver’s license
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required

Additional Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of hospital associated codes

Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:

  • A minimum of 2 years hospital experience preferred
