As a Carbon Accounting Specialist, Senior Associate in Operational Sustainability, you support the end-to-end greenhouse gas inventory lifecycle and help deliver high-quality, audit-ready emissions data. You work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity, apply sound methodologies, and enhance reporting processes. You contribute to emissions measurement, analysis, and regulatory disclosures while helping strengthen governance and controls. This role provides the opportunity to influence how emissions data is used to inform strategy and reporting. 

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Support development and maintenance of greenhouse gas inventories across Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3
  • Perform emissions calculations using established methodologies and ensure data accuracy through quality control processes
  • Analyze emissions data to identify trends, variances, and data quality issues
  • Partner with stakeholders to source, validate, and manage datasets used in emissions measurement
  • Execute data validation, reconciliations, and exception management to support completeness and accuracy
  • Maintain clear documentation of data sources, assumptions, and calculation logic for audit readiness
  • Support development and maintenance of carbon accounting methodologies and internal documentation
  • Assist with external assurance processes by preparing supporting materials and responding to audit requests
  • Contribute to strengthening controls and governance across emissions reporting processes
  • Support preparation of regulatory and voluntary disclosures and adapt reporting to evolving requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver clear, structured outputs and insights from emissions data

 

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills

  • 4 years of experience in greenhouse gas accounting, sustainability reporting, environmental analytics, or a related field
  • Working knowledge of greenhouse gas accounting standards, including Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions concepts
  • Experience performing analysis, validation, and reconciliation of large or complex datasets
  • Experience supporting audit, controls, or assurance processes with documentation and evidence
  • Experience working with carbon accounting or sustainability data platforms
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly

 

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills

  • Experience supporting regulatory disclosures or frameworks (e.g., climate-related reporting requirements or voluntary disclosures)
  • Experience developing data models, calculation logic, or reporting structures
  • Familiarity with emissions forecasting or scenario analysis approaches
  • Experience working in a large, matrixed organization with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Knowledge of evolving sustainability regulations and standards
