Job Description
Come work with us at Ridgeline! We're in search of a Software Engineering Intern to join our software team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on coding experience with modern languages such as Java, Python, Angular, and SQL.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Developing performant, reliable, testable, and maintainable code.
- Participating in all aspects of software development activities, including software design, coding, code review, testing, bug fixing, and code/API documentation.
- Practicing good documentation using tools like Confluence and Jira.
- Collaborating with the Software testing team to automate testing processes and reporting.
- Engaging in agile software development processes.
Qualifications
We're looking for someone who:
- Is currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another STEM-related field.
- Possesses proficiency and experience with at least one or more of the following languages: Java, Python, or JavaScript (bonus points if you're familiar with frameworks like Angular and Spring Boot).
- Has exposure to software development tools and frameworks, including source control management tools like Git.
- Is familiar with Agile software development methodologies such as the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
- Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Is eligible to obtain a Secret security clearance; US Citizenship is required.
Additional Information
Internship Details:
- Ridgeline's 2024 Internships commence on June 3, 2024, and extend through August.
- Internships are predominantly situated at Ridgeline's headquarters campus in McLean, VA. However, in certain instances, remote work may be allowed.
- Applicants must be capable of remaining stationary for 50% of the time. Occasionally, movement within the office environment may be required.
- The role involves continuous interaction with computers and other office productivity equipment.
