Team / Division Overview

 DWS Group is committed to the highest standards of Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions & Embargoes, Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC) and Anti-Fraud (collectively referred to as Anti-Financial Crime) prevention. The DWS Management and all employees are required to adhere to these standards to prevent DWS and our reputation from those who may intend to use our products and services for money laundering, bribery, corruption, fraud and/or Terrorist Financing (CTF) purposes.

DWS Group will examine its Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) strategies, goals and objectives on an ongoing basis and maintain an effective program for DWS’s business that reflects the best practices for a diversified, global financial services provider.

AFC serves to ensure that DWS acts with integrity and discipline with regards to the legal and regulatory requirements of the Anti-Money Laundering regime. One of its objectives is the reduction of financial crime by being used for money laundering or terrorist financing and having sufficient systems and controls to prevent this.

Business Line AFC DWS Americas acts as a second line of defense (2nd LoD) control function implements all necessary initiatives to be up to standard of all Anti-Financial Crime risks of DWS Americas clients. Hereto the team runs systems and sets in force controls in compliance with global and divisional procedures to prevent money laundering or terrorist financing within DWS Americas. Business Line AFC DWS Americas provides AML guidance and support for DWS Legal Entities in the Americas in terms of legal and regulatory requirements or reputational risks regarding DWS clients` activities or transactions.

Role Details  

As a/an AFC & Compliance Officer, you will (be):

  • Acting as AML advisor for DWS

  • Main responsibility with regard to rollout of new AFC standards for Alts Investments in Americas Region

  • Support and advisory with regards to the DWS product Risk Assessments

  • Support in the coordination of internal and external Audits

  • Support of Audits (e.g. delivery of documents)

  • Development of countermeasures with regard to audit findings

  • Support for AFC regulatory related matters

  • Support in the coordination with DWS Compliance teams

  • Support of DWS projects with AFC and Compliance relevance (Business and AFC)

  • Advisory AFC contact for Alternative business in Americas

  • SARs support

  • Semi-annual QA of Alts investment due diligence process

  • Assist in oversight of product vendors:  USA and Cayman

  • Assist with other AFC Team task as needed (e.g., NLS Alerts

We are looking for: 

  • General knowledge of AFC Risk types; AML, Sanctions & Anti-Fraud, Bribery & Corruption

  • 3-5 Years AFC experience

  • Experience working with and advising on Alternative Investments (Real Estate and Infrastructure Debt particula
