Job Roles 

  • Provide direct supervision (individual and/or triadic supervision) to ACSWs and AMFTs. Provides feedback on performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, staff schedules, timekeeping and other areas as needed.

  • Supports the recruiting, selection, hiring, onboarding, and training of associate therapists, in collaboration with program management.

  • Provide at minimum 1 hour of individual consultation to each assigned associate therapist per month.

  • Review and co-sign progress notes.

  • Review letters and co-sign as appropriate.

  • Sign and comply with required supervision-related forms.

  • Provide ad-hoc consultations and assistance with patient crisis and safety concerns.

  • Review Incident Reports related to Associate Therapists.

  • Ensure compliance and timely submission of required BBS documentation, including but not limited to: Supervisory Plan, Weekly log, Experience Verification Form, Supervisory Responsibility Statement, Complete assessment of ongoing strengths and limitations of Supervisee 1x/year, and at end of supervisory relationship.

  • Complete Supervisor Self-Assessment Report due to the BBS.

  • Provide clinical oversight for the extended Social Services team of social workers, case managers, etc.

  • Conduct Clinical Quality Assurance activities including regular chart reviews and preparation for medical record reviews.

  • Provide direct clinical care services (i.e., carries own caseload, etc.).

  • Provide services to a wide range of patients including children and adults who have incurred mental illness.

  • Complete all required documentation accurately, in a timely manner, and thoroughly in accordance with department standards; in addition, documentation complies with patients' insurance requirements.

  • Perform initial and on-going assessments for assigned patients. Participate in development of patients' individualized care plans, in a timely and thorough manner.

  • Provide treatment to assigned patients within scope of practice, meeting program/department productivity and quality standards. Demonstrate awareness of transference and countertransference issues and address them as they arise. Address co-occurring disorders, factoring them into patient's treatment plan. Demonstrate clinical skills and judgment necessary to implement the treatment plan.

  • Work effectively as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team. Communicate with providers, physicians, case managers, scheduling staff, referring providers, and with outside agencies and authorities, in a timely and appropriate manner. Connect patients to internal/external resources as appropriate, accurately document referrals.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Education/Certifications/Licenses/Registrations 

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW).

  • Possess a current and active California license issued by the Board of Behavioral Science as an LCSW that is not under suspension or probation.

  • Traveling between sites and other locations is occasionally required. Must have a valid California driver’s license, an automobile, and proof of minimum levels of car insurance as required under California law, although limits of $100,000 are recommended. An acceptable driving record is also required. California law requires all drivers to obtain a valid California driver’s license within ten days of establishing residency. Reasonable accommodation may be provided on a case-by-case basis. Mileage and other reimbursement governed by policy.

Experience/Specialized skills (including Language) 

  • Have been licensed in California or any other state for at least two (2) years out of the last five (5) years prior to the commencement of supervision.

  • Have practiced psychotherapy during at least two (2) years out of the last five (5) years prior to the commencemen
