Shift: 3rd, Sunday – Friday 11pm – 7am

Job Summary and Mission:

Manual/Automated welding operations of parts to specification that are used in manufacturing of Kennametal products.

 

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Manual welding operations on various parts to include forged and cast components using GMAW and FCAW
  • Operation of CNC plasma table to cut parts.
  • Operation of the PTA machine to apply hard facing to conical bits.
  • Operation of automated robotic operated hard face welding cells (i.e. Yaskawa and ABB robots)
  • Work with engineers or supervisors to help establish new welding processes.
  • Support other production activities as needed.
  • Scan correct production information.
  • Train new operators when required.
  • Operators are required to troubleshoot basic to moderate problems.

 

 

Required Experience:

  • This position requires a high school diploma or general equivalent diploma.
  • Completion of basic math, blueprint reading and gauge-reading training.
  • Ability to understand written/oral instructions and communicate with supervisors/coworkers.
  • In addition, candidates will be required to demonstrate their welding ability by passing a hands-on welding assessment.

 

 

Desired Experience:

  • Specialized robotic welding programmed Training (40 hours).
  • One year of welding experience.
  • Fundamental knowledge of low hydrogen and mild steel welding procedures.
  • The ability to use an oxy-acetylene torch is preferred.
