Responsibilities
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) works under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to implement behavior intervention plans for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. The RBT provides one-on-one behavioral support to help clients build communication, social, and daily living skills.
Implement individualized behavior intervention plans as written by the BCBA
Provide direct one-on-one therapy in home, school, or community settings
Collect and record accurate data on client progress and behaviors
Assist with skill acquisition programs and behavior reduction strategies
Follow ethical standards and maintain client confidentiality
Communicate effectively with supervisors, caregivers, and team members
Participate in ongoing training, supervision, and team meetings
Maintain current RBT certification and required documentation
Qualifications
- Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification (or eligibility to obtain)
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s preferred)
- Experience working with children with autism or developmental disabilities preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow behavior plans and take feedback from supervisors
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to client locations, required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and move for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, as needed
Ability to engage in active play and therapeutic activities
Work Environment
- In-home, school-based, or clinic-based settings
- May include daytime, after-school, evening, or weekend hours
