Senior Financial Risk Officer

The role is part of the Financial Risk (FR) department who sets and controls the financial risk strategy across the bank by safeguarding ING’s financial health. The department provides strategic guidance on financial risks (in trading and banking books and related to the ING balance sheet), safeguards regulatory compliance, and is the model owner for the banking and trading risk models.
In the Financial Risk organization, the Banking Risk Management department focuses on managing risks related to the ING Group banking activities in all business lines. Interest Rate risks, Funding & Liquidity risks, Treasury risks and Customer Behaviour risks are the main risk categories.
The team
The Interest Rate Risk team is responsible for the monitoring, management and oversight of the related risk in all ING Group banking book. As such, the team globally steers the interest rate risk management of the banking book ensuring consistency across the bank and compliance with relevant policies and guidelines.
Main activities of the team include:
· Oversee regulatory and internal IRRBB reporting including executing financial risk analysis and assessments;
· Cascade and monitor IRRBB limits;
· Responsible for all IRRBB regulatory demands such as EBA Stress Test and coordinate the process globally amongst Risk locations;
· Implement the regulatory changes applied to ING;
· Manage Model lifecycle of Interest Rate Risk models (e.g. NII@Risk, NPV@Risk, Scenario Calibration);
· Maintain close relationships with the model stakeholders worldwide;
· Advice Senior Management and Committees;
· Enhance the ALM modelling landscape;
· Review of Minimum Standards and Governance;
· Monitor alignment to Financial Risk and modelling standards.

· We are looking for a colleague with a quantitative background with an excellent understanding of different types of market risks.
· You understand the complexities of a banking group with global operations and have a good understanding of recent regulatory changes and requirements.
· You are curious, you are open to new developments and you know how to master your new material quickly. Moreover, you as a person are able to respond well to the wishes and needs of others as an expert advisor.
· You are a pragmatic problem solver, who can support the implementation of IRRBB risk measurement systems in a dynamic environment.
· You are a team player who will add value to the Financial Risk organization within a dynamic environment. You will ensure that the activities you are responsible for will be performed to an exceptional standard.
· You possess an excellent command of English, being able to demonstrate negotiation, presentation and writing skills.

More about you:
· A completed academic education, preferably in economics, econometrics, or a quantitative specialization or comparable training.
· Relevant work experience (min. 8 years) within the financial sector preferably within the banking sector.
· Extensive knowledge in the field of Asset and Liability Management and new regulatory developments.
· Sound knowledge of risk management and financial products.
· Excellent in English, both verbal and writing.
