Job Purpose:

We are seeking a seasoned Senior DevOps / Software Release Engineer to enhance and manage our CI/CD pipelines, software release lifecycle, and internal tools. This role is central to advancing DevOps maturity across the organization by improving automation, deployment speed, monitoring, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment workflows.
• Lead end-to-end software release processes, from source control to production deployment.
• Utilize GitHub Actions and Jenkins to manage integration and deployment automation.
• Work with development, QA, and infrastructure teams to ensure secure and efficient software delivery.
• Configure and manage automated deployment strategies across dev, UAT, and production environments.
• Develop and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems for application and system health.
• Analyze logs and metrics to identify and resolve performance or reliability issues.
• Create status reports and release documentation for leadership and project stakeholders.
• Use tools like Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and GitHub for source control and task management.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and technical design sessions.
• Advocate for DevOps best practices and lead continuous improvement efforts across the software lifecycle.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Release Engineering, or related roles.
• Expert-level knowledge of GitHub and GitHub Actions.
• Proficiency in Jenkins, Maven, and/or Gradle build tools.
• Strong scripting skills in PowerShell and Bash.
• Solid experience with Java or similar languages.
• Proficient in Linux and Windows environments.
• Familiarity with Atlassian tools: Jira and Confluence.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be a resident of Arizona and authorized to work without sponsorship.
• Must have a personal laptop for initial access/setup; agency provides work equipment.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, or other container technologies.
• Familiarity with release management strategies and performance monitoring tools.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development teams.
• Background in public sector or highly regulated environments is a plus.
