High School Internship-Network Engineer-DFW Area

Responsibilities

The H-E-B High School Internship program is designed to prepare high talent and self-motivated individuals for future careers with H-E-B. The program is an 8-week summer internship (June - August) that offers high school students who have completed their junior year the opportunity to combine work experience and professional development with formal education. This program offers you an opportunity to work in an environment where you can learn, investigate career choices, and apply your education.Interns will work approximately 40 hours a week in a business unit located at an H-E-B administrative location in Carrollton Texas. Interns must have flexible availability and will receive a company overview, technical training, and exposure to H-E-B Leadership as part of their experience.In addition to practical on-the-job training, interns will be challenged with assignments and projects relevant to their studies and the assigned business unit. Each intern will receive a final evaluation to assess his/her performance, to review goals and to discuss future career paths and options. Preferred Education / Experience and Competencies-Completed junior year and currently enrolled in High school formal Career and Technical Program -Potential career interest with H-E-B-Strong academic record plus recommendation from CTE Leader / Teacher-Excellent oral and written communication skills-Exhibit professionalism and discretion in working in a confidential work environment-Basic computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database administration-Ability to work in a team environment

-Experience/Understanding of TCP/IP stack a plus, but not required-Ability to work in a team environment

-Familiarity with hardware (printers, monitors, key boards, etc.)

-Interest in a career as an Network Engineer
