Role/Responsibilities:
• The RF Technician shall be responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of large aperture antennas that are used for communication with satellites on orbit, which include; (a) RF ground station and test equipment, (b) satellite communication antennas, (c) RF over fiber, (d) basic radio frequency concepts.
• Shall be responsible for; testing, installation, repair, and maintenance of complex RF equipment down to the component level
• Shall work with vendor engineers and technicians to solve maintenance issues
• The RF Technician is responsible for identifying the causes of faults and working with on-site teams to implement preventative measures so that they do not happen again
• This position encompasses all aspects of RF equipment maintenance and operations from initial planning and design to final installation and maintenance
• Schedule & execute RF ground equipment PMs and synch with operations/test & development
• Research and recommend new technology for testing and integration into the ground station
• Survey RF vendor market for new component suppliers to diversify ground station’s manufacturer reliance
• Collaborate with ops/development teams to increase antenna automation to improve efficiency; focus on fault detection/mitigation and other processes to that improve antenna availability
• Additional related responsibilities include the production of technical and user documentation, training and system orientation, and consultation with related development teams throughout the spacecraft life cycle

Requirements:
• HS Diploma + 8 years of experience
• Experience in operating and maintaining antenna systems in various environments and centralized system architectures is required
• Must be able to do outside work, perform lift operations up to 85 ft high, and lift 40lb
• Specific experience in the design, development, and maintenance of RF equipment for satellite command and control is desired
• Familiarity with software scripting is desired
• Familiarity with the development and testing of software device drivers and antenna components is desired
• Familiarity with general principles of satellite command and control and satellite RF for TT&C and data transmission is desired

Security Clearance
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
