The Opportunity 

The Center of Mentorship Programs and Student Success (COMPASS) is committed to helping students “navigate forward” by providing personalized guidance that enhances the overall educational experience and creates meaningful future opportunities. In response to significant recent growth and continued program expansion, COMPASS is seeking an Associate Director to support its evolving initiatives.

This full-time position works closely with the Director to oversee the daily operations of the COMPASS mentoring program and to support its continued development. The Associate Director plays a key leadership role in advancing program strategy, ensuring operational excellence, and supporting both student success and engagement across the institution.

Based at ERAU’s Worldwide Headquarters (WWHQ), this role supports Worldwide students while also contributing to strategic efforts to expand mentoring services to residential students as part of a broader university-wide initiative.

Key Job Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Development

  • Assist with the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of peer mentoring programs aligned with institutional goals

  • Support the development and ongoing updates of training curricula and resources for mentors and program participants

  • Assist in the establishment and refinement of program policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistency, quality, and effectiveness

Supervision & Staff Development

  • Supervise, train, and evaluate a team of Peer Mentors

  • Provide direct supervision and mentorship to graduate interns supporting program operations

  • Facilitate regular team meetings, professional development sessions, and performance evaluations

  • Foster an inclusive, supportive, and growth-oriented team environment

Data Management & Assessment

  • Track, analyze, and report program data, including student participation, engagement, and outcomes

  • Utilize data to inform decision-making, improve program effectiveness, and demonstrate impact

  • Prepare reports and presentations for university leadership and key stakeholders

Student Support & Engagement

  • Monitor student progress and intervene as needed to support mentee success

  • Collaborate with academic advisors, faculty, and student services to connect students with appropriate resources

  • Promote mentoring programs through outreach, events, and campus engagement initiatives

Collaboration & Outreach

  • Partner with campus departments to integrate mentoring into broader student success initiatives

  • Represent the mentoring program at university committees, events, and external conferences

  • Support diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts within mentoring programs

Professional Development & Engagement

  • Actively participate in ongoing professional development to enhance knowledge, skills, and program effectiveness

  • Attend and contribute to monthly roundtable discussions focused on mentoring best practices, student success strategies, and program innovation
