The Administrative Coordinator works for the for the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center's (LCCC) Summer Undergraduate Training Program, providing clerical and
administrative support for key faculty involved in specific research training activities. The program is an American Cancer Society sponsored summer scholars training and a National Institutes of Health, National Institute on Aging career training initiative. Both are summer residential programs on the Georgetown campus with ancillary events at partnering HBCU campuses. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Schedule meetings among participating students, faculty, and advisory board members.
Track data on applications and acceptances to both programs.
Meet regularly with students to address unmet program needs.
Serve as a liaison with program career mentoring experts and graduate students.
Order supplies and arrange travel through the Georgetown GMS.
Reserve on -campus housing and arrange meal programs for summer scholars.
Coordinate workshops and programs, sending reminders/follow-up emails.
Provide general office support, including but not limited to meeting and event coordination (room reservations, managing RSVPs, creating and sending advertisements) and workshop material preparation.
Oversee the day – to – day management and updating content on the Canvas course sites.
Create meaningful relationships with other departments and partner faculty and students.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 1 year of administrative experience OR an Associate’s degree with administrative coordination experience
Previous experience in an academic environment is preferred
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must have good attention to detail and executive function skills
Ability to deal effectively and professionally with a variety of persons
Demonstrated time management skills and ability to multi-task
Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Drive programs (google documents, google sheets).
Ability to update and manage a Canvas course site (training for website editing available).
Work Mode Designation
This position is designated as Hybrid with in person responsibilities particularly during the summer months. Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$19.20 - $28.70Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
