Job Description

Position summary:

The EHS & Facilities Supervisor is responsible for managing the site’s Environmental, Health, Safety and Facilities efforts, supporting approximately 35 shop floor and 30 office employees.  The successful applicant will help drive continuous improvement initiatives and overall plant success as a key member of the operations leadership team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the site’s EHS efforts, including developing, maintaining, and communicating EHS targets, proactive safety management, and leading strategic EHS initiatives / projects.
  • Enable data-driven safety decision making, data management and analysis to improve incidents, injuries and illnesses, environmental impact, risk assessments, and other EHS related actions.
  • Foster employee and leader engagement through safety teams, training, training programs, project management, communications, and other employee facing activities.
  • Provide clarity and closure for all open safety incidents (injuries, incidents, spills, property damage & near misses, etc.) through diligent investigations, leadership reporting, system tracking / entry, appropriate remediation, and closure actions.
  • Ensure effective internal and external compliance management via audits, compliance activities, permitting, documentation, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the facilities efforts, including maintenance and improvement of the site infrastructure and operations.
  • Ensure the infrastructure of the site meets safety, environmental, and accessibility standards and regulations including company, local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Create & Submit capital requests to support initiatives & track spending against forecast. Review all MOC’s for plant, understand impact to facility and maintenance.
  • Lead continuous improvement culture in equipment and facility maintenance, including improvement of Preventative Maintenance (PM).
  • Plan and develop Maintenance Technician position to support plant metrics.
  • Responsible for monthly recording of environmental KPI’s with quarterly reporting to required agencies.
  • Identify opportunities and provide recommendations to support ITW’s renewable energy initiatives.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Successful applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Health, or other related scientific disciplines.  Minimum of 4 years’ professional experience in EHS, facilities/maintenance.

Skills required:

  • Management experience required as Maintenance Technician will report directly to this role.
  • ISO Audit Certification and compliance experience.
  • Strong leadership qualities including initiative, influence, communications, training, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and experience working with union personnel, sub-contractors, Local and State officials.
  • Ability to support and drive meaningful metrics that measure progress.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills, and project management skills.
  • Experience in EHS and facilities/maintenance in a manufacturing setting.

Additional Information

Physical requirements and working conditions:

Normal working conditions standing, walking, sitting, and occasional operation and work on company equipment/products.  50% sitting, 30% standing, 5% bendi
