About the role

TSC is looking for Robotics Engineering Research Assistent in Washington, D.C.

This position will be half-time located at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington DC. This position will require a DoD Secret security clearance. 

Responsibilities:  

  • Assist NRL researchers in fundamental research on developing and training autonomous robotic systems in a virtual reality framework 

  • Develop machine learning tools for the Nvidia Omniverse  

  • Perform independent research in robotic interactions with the VR environment. 

Requirements:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science 

  • Graduate-level coursework in Computer Science, focusing on machine learning and virtual environments 

  • US citizenship, with ability to obtain Secret clearance 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Active doctoral candidates preferred 

  • Practical work experience with VR, Augmented Reality, and extended reality 

  • Software:  

  • C#, C++, C, Python, MATLAB, Java, JavaScript 

  • Familiarity with machine vision, virtual reality, mixed reality, and spatial computing 

  • Experience developing algorithms for robotic interaction with real and virtual environments  

  • Excellent data literacy skills for analyzing and presenting experimental results
