About the role
Accounting Manager Join the Transdev team at the East Bay Paratransit Consortium location. The Accounting Manager performs accounting/finance functions. This includes daily billing file updates, payroll processing, month-end activities, and weekly reconciliations. Updating spreadsheets for Billing/Fares Recon/Attendance and PTOs. Transdev is proud to offer:

- Reports to the General Manager with a dotted line reporting requirement to the Regional Finance team.
- Responsible for all pass-thru billing to client, including revenue service and all details for inventory and maintenance services.
- Responsible for providing a monthly breakdown of fixed, variable, and pass-through expenses, as well as managing accruals to ensure proper allocation of costs and revenues in the correct periods.
- Responsible for all aspects of the month-end close, including the posting of journal entries, variance analysis, and financial statement preparation for multiple on-site cost centers.
- Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of the balance sheet, including monthly reconciliations.
- Responsible for accurate inventory and consumption records.
- Work closely with the inventory management team to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Manage the local on-site accounting team, with direct responsibility for client billing and accounts payable. This includes training and developing staff.
- Monthly tracking and analysis of job/project costs to budget and contracts by cost center.
- Responsible for monthly forecasting and annual budgets for all cost centers.
- Monitor Accounts Receivable accuracy and collections.
- Set-up new vendors and new clients according to company policy
- Review and Approve Accounts Payable invoices.
- Review subcontractor invoices for proper allocation to jobs.
- Handle requirements related to insurance certifications, releases, and other required documents.
- Additional duties as assigned by the General Manager and/or Division Finance team.
- 5-10 years of experience in construction accounting role
- 2-5 years of experience in an accounting management role
- Transportation experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required. MBA/CPA preferred.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
- Strong knowledge of construction accounting, cost controls, and job costing
- Ability to understand and review complex billing and job costing concepts.
- Proficient in MS Office products, including Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat
- Knowledge of automated account systems such as the J.D. Edwards System
- Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally and make recommendations.
- Able to work as a team player, flexible and adaptable to change.
