Modern Packaging is searching for a Field Service Technician to join our growing Aftermarket organization. We are seeking individuals that currently reside in the Midwestern and/or Western Region of the United States to be a technical resource to our customers with assets in (but not limited to) Minnesota, Iowa, Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, Texas, Oklahoma & Louisiana.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Obtain and maintain the ability to adapt to a variety of work environments and quickly resolve issues pertaining to Modern Packaging fillers.
- Perform installation at customer location (electrical and mechanical) of Modern automated machinery.
- Perform in-factory startup\commissioning of Modern machinery at customer location. Technician is required to troubleshoot and adjust equipment to achieve the machine efficiency rates per the contract. Training plant personnel is required.
- Perform in-factory repair/maintenance of Modern machinery at customer location. Services include troubleshooting machinery inefficiencies and making required adjustments, performing audits, installing upgrades, and follow-up operator training.
- Formally document site activities related to installation, commissioning and repairs performed while at the customer locations via detailed service reports.
- Support the customer by recommending relevant machine upgrades or retrofits that will improve machine safety, performance and/or reliability based on current product designs.
- Assist the customer through recommendations of stock parts and aid in the management of Modern related spare part inventory at the customers’ location.
- While not traveling, the Field Service Technician will be asked to perform various duties at the Modern facility in Deer Park, NY including, but not limited to, assembly and test of new machines, and participation in customer Factory Acceptance Tests.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have previous experience in a travel-based Field Service Technician, or similar tech-related position, working on medium to large scale industrial equipment.
- Must have strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must for understanding the issues customers have and to explain technical information to customers in clear terms and in a professional manner.
- Minimum High School Diploma but preferred Associates Degree in related technical field (mechanical and electrical).
- Strong mechanical equipment repair background with 3+ years in machine start-up/repair/maintenance.
