JOB TITLE:   

Business Manager - American Heritage Center

JOB PURPOSE:

Manage the business operations of the American Heritage Center including personnel, financial and office activities and services; interpret, administer, and apply university policy and procedures; conduct special projects as set forth by the Dean or Director; assist with development of policy and procedures for area of influence; self-motivated and can work independently under limited supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the business operations, financial, and human resources activities for the American Heritage Center and programs under its purview. Monitor income and expenditures for state, local, grant and Foundation funding. Research and report on individual accounts and programs as well as tracking, reporting and reconciling financial obligations and revenues in multiple financial systems. Provide financial reports for director as needed.
  • Responsible for advising on/making funding decisions to best utilize the complex funding structure of the American Heritage Center. Prepares and process invoices, requisitions, IDTs, deposits, and processes expense reports. Responsible for completing Foundation funds for payments, transfers, and deposits. Monitors WyoCloud reports and Foundation gift reports for accuracy.
  • Prepare and disseminate up-to-date information on changes in University financial and HR policy and procedures. Interpret and apply University guidelines to business operations, financial and human resources activities within the American Heritage Center areas. Serve as DHR. Create and trac funding forms, personnel lines, and personnel budgets.
  • Interview, hire, train, supervise and evaluate support staff; supervise accounting and related personnel functions.
  • Review business/accounting work for accuracy and coordination of flow; research and report on budgeting and personnel activity.
  • May monitor and update fee schedules as directed.

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Conduct special projects, as directed.
  • Responsible for computerized documentation; may perform routine programming.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Business preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience:  2 years work-related experience
