About the role

Description

Dr. Dora Angelaki’s Lab (Center for Neural Science, NYU; http://www.cns.nyu.edu/corefaculty/Angelaki.php) is searching for a full-time Senior Laboratory Associate to join their team.

 
Performs responsible research work of a complex nature that requires planning, completing, and
occasionally supervising limited research projects in accordance with general plans approved by the supervisor. The person (or people) hired will be involved in all aspects animal projects and will be expected to run the day-to-day operations (animal husbandry and handling, training animals on behavioral protocols, etc.).

Responsibilities include: 

  • Coordination and management of research operation
  • Research animal care
  • Behavioral data collection and analysis
  • Neural data collection
  • Maintaining protocol and regulatory compliance
  • Interfacing with facilities management
  • Inventory maintenance
  • Coordinate and assist with surgical procedures

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $80,080- $81,900. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

Qualifications

Required education: BS or MS in Neuroscience or related field

Minimum 5-10 years of experience working in a laboratory setting and experience in coordinating research projects and managing research personnel.  Experience in laboratory research support; Proficient in research methodology and laboratory procedures.
