This is a hybrid role requiring in-office work at our West Hills, CA location three days a week (Tuesday - Thursday), with remote work on Mondays and Fridays.
The Intern – Regulatory Affairs is an opportunity to develop regulatory acumen by supporting key projects to ensure compliance with regulations both federal and state, build process efficiencies, and perform horizon scanning. This is an opportunity to help you grow in your educational and career development, and we will provide training and mentorship. The Regulatory Affairs Intern reports to the Manager, Regulatory Affairs.
Key Responsibilities
Critical contributions this role is counted on to deliver include:
Develop or update records that help track regulatory compliance from raw material to formulation.
Optimize internal processes to support regulatory compliance from raw materials through to labeling.
Create or revise Job Aids and other reference guides.
Regulatory monitoring through various resources
Shadow regulatory team to learn how to apply regulatory knowledge to regulatory activities that support business priorities.
Execute cross-functional projects within the Scientific and Regulatory Affairs Department.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a student that is interested in pursuing a career in regulatory affairs or regulatory science within the food, dietary supplement or pharmaceutical industry. You are detail-orientated and can collaborate well with others across the organization.
Critical Success Factors
You’ll be most successful in this role if you have:
Studied regulatory topics applicable to food, dietary supplements or pharmaceutical.
Complete projects in in a timely manner.
Proven ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with a variety of audiences.
Consistently demonstrated a positive and approachable attitude.
Strong analytical, organization and critical thinking skills.
Capabilities & Skills Required
In order to take on these challenges, you’ll need to have:
Undergraduate (3rd or 4th year) in areas of Biological Science, Nutrition Science, or other relevant field or Graduate student in Regulatory Affairs
Available 8-12 weeks starting in June 2025
Knowledge of federal regulations for conventional foods and/or dietary supplements
Ability to learn fast and effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Excellent oral and written communication skills

The salary range for this position is based on national standards. For candidates in California and New York metro the Target Base Pay Range is 19.23/hr - 30.77/hr, to reflect the cost of living and market conditions in those areas.
