Job Overview

Jensen Hughes is seeking accomplished mid- to senior-level Engineers with demonstrated expertise in Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA) and Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA) to support risk-informed regulatory initiatives and advanced client projects. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong record of leading or significantly contributing to PRA efforts for operating or advanced nuclear facilities, while also fostering strong client relationships.

While our PRA team is based in West Chester, PA, we understand top talent isn’t confined by geography. Remote work is available for highly qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will apply your PRA expertise across a range of impactful projects, including:

  • Development, maintenance, and enhancement of PRA models
  • Fire PRA, seismic PRA, external hazards, and internal flooding assessments
  • Risk-informed regulatory applications (e.g., RICT, 50.69, ILRT extensions)
  • Integration and application of online risk tools (e.g., Phoenix RM, PARAGON)
  • Human Reliability Analysis (HRA) and severe accident modeling
  • Regulatory and licensing support for complex initiatives
  • Development of innovative PRA methodologies, including machine learning integration
  • Supporting business growth by building client relationships and identifying new opportunities

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead or provide senior-level input on PRA analyses, modeling, and calculations
  • Develop and present PRA-based licensing strategies to clients and regulators
  • Mentor early-career engineers through knowledge sharing and technical guidance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver compliant, innovative solutions
  • Communicate PRA findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Identify and support strategic business development opportunities

 

Requirements and Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent PRA-related experience
  • At least 5 years (10+ preferred) of hands-on PRA experience, including internal events, fire PRA, or risk-informed applications
  • Demonstrated experience leading risk-informed applications or PRA model enhancements
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on nuclear safety and operational integrity
  • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with operating or advanced nuclear plant engineering, operations, or licensing
  • Familiarity with NRC risk-informed decision-making processes
  • Consulting experience with direct client interaction
  • Project management or technical leadership experience
