About the Team

As DoorDash continues to grow and expand internationally, it’s an exciting time to join our Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting team. Our team oversees DoorDash’s external  and internal reporting on a company-wide level. We are also the go-to group for technical accounting assessments for significant and unusual transactions, including compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal policies, SOX controls and external audits. The Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting team is involved in various processes as a key partner with FP&A, Accounting, Investor Relations and Legal, and has no shortage of opportunities to grow.

About the Role

You will play a key role in managing the preparation of external and internal reporting, and be the subject matter expert for cash flows and other technical accounting matters. This role will be driving impact with internal and external stakeholders, with recurring exposure to all levels of management and cross-functional teams. We currently expect this role to be primarily working from home, with occasional visits to the Sunnyvale and/or San Francisco office for team in-person events and meetings.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Manage and prepare quarterly and annual SEC filings, including 10-Q’s, 10-K’s and Earnings Releases
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly consolidated statements of cash flows under US GAAP
  • Assist in managing the preparation of monthly financial reporting for management and quarterly reporting to the Audit Committee, including tie-outs to underlying supports and detail
  • Perform technical accounting research and assessment of unusual / new transactions to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal policies, SOX controls, and external audits
  • Main contributor to PBCs requested by auditors, and review of significant PBC items to ensure consistency with financial records
  • Key decision maker on application of and continuous development of accounting policies and standard operating procedures
  • Partner closely with FP&A, Accounting, Investor Relations and Legal teams on various internal and external reporting projects
  • This role reports both to the Senior Manager and Director of Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting

  • 5+ years of accounting experience, with experience in relevant industry public company and/or big 4 public accounting preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA required
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, PCAOB standards, SOX/internal controls
  • Experience with Oracle, NetSuite and GSuite preferred

Compensation

The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions.  Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.
