he main responsibility of the Employee Benefits Account Manager. They will collect, analyze and report on experience to retain a designated book of business, as well as new business. They will also be responsible for obtaining proposals from carrier/vendor partners for the purpose of earning new business and renewing existing business.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Account Manager
- Provide direct customer service support for Employee Benefits clients
- Prepare new business and renewal bid specifications, proposals, and related reports
- Perform marketing functions, including carrier negotiations and appropriate follow-up
- Contact clients and/or underwriters to obtain additional information or answer questions
- Compose or assist in composition of highly technical or sensitive correspondence
- Assist clients with applications and other submission documents
- Coordinate and/or conduct open enrollment meetings, as required
- Prepare summaries of benefits for clients
- Complete appropriate checklists for all new and renewal business and take action required
- Review all contracts and/or booklets for accuracy
- Assist the accounting department in reconciliation and/or maintenance of client accounts.
- Stays current on carrier insurance products and offerings. Keep abreast of developments in the marketplace, including product line offerings, changing insurance consumer trends and needs
- Set up and maintain electronic file information in the Agency Management System including data entry and client & policy database maintenance
- Maintains accurate and timely documentation of communication pertaining to client’s insurance program
- Resolve policy and coverage related concerns for clients, insurance carriers, and producers
- Consistently meet all Brown & Brown established Quality Control Practices and Timelines
- Follow the established guidelines for workflow and system documentation
- Assist Benefits Leader with special projects as needed
RELEVANT EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
- Current Arkansas State Insurance License and appropriate Non-Resident Licenses
- Valid Driver’s License
- Must be willing to attend continuing education classes to maintain the license
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Strong writing skills - ability to translate technical information in a manner understandable to all levels of clients.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, verbal and written
- Analytical, detail oriented and committed to accuracy and quality control
- Ability to analyze and compare benefit plan designs for all lines of coverage
- Strong decision-making skills
- Consistent dependability / availability; excellent attendance record.
- Highly organized – ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with frequent interruptions and changing priorities and to report on the current status of items on an immediate basis
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Proficient on computers – including MS Office products
- Desire for professional growth within the insurance industry
- Excellent work habits - detail oriented, works accurately, follows specific instructions
- Excellent prioritization skills - sense of urgency
- Creative problem solver
