Staff Development Coordinator Key Responsibilities:
• Planning, teaching and documenting in-service education for all employees in accordance with all federal, state and local regulations.
• Maintaining library resources, instructional materials and equipment for use by employees, physicians and students using our facility for clinical experiences.
• Will be responsible for performing new employee physicals, drug screenings, and TB testing as part of the new employee orientation/pre-screening and maintaining those records per all federal, state, and local regulations.
• Providing in-service attendance information/ records for all staff and performance observations of nursing staff.
• Provide the Director of Nursing with an annual schedule of education programs.
• Plan, schedule and post notice of education programs in a timely manner.
• Maintain current in-service records of classes conducted, attendance and clinical performance of all staff.
• Preparation of lesson plans containing objectives, course content, method of instruction and method of evaluation for each class.
• In a staffing emergency, the SDC will perform any task that a professional nurse and/or nursing assistant may be called upon to do. This may include assessing resident nourishment and well-being, lifting and transferring residents, dispensing medications and the like.
• Must respond to any emergency and readily must come to the premises in an institutional disaster or emergency.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by the Director of Nursing.
• Nursing Degree from an accredited school of nursing
• A current and valid Indiana nursing license
• LPN required/RN preferred
• Management experience preferred
• Long term care experience preferred
• Excellent organizational skills
