About the role

Attendance is an essential function of the job. This position is 100% in person role. This position is responsible for delivering against key performance indicators; problem-solving production issues; and training, coaching, and managing production teams consisting of 30-45 manufacturing team members. We are looking for proven leaders who have a minimum of three years production management experience. This position drives change at the floor level so contenders must have excellent coaching/motivational and team building skills. This is a functional shop-floor leadership position. We are looking for a qualified individual who possesses strong problem-solving abilities and outstanding people and communication skills. 


Highlights of the role: 

· Analyze the workload based on schedules and objectives and allocate resources such as manpower and material accordingly. 

· Understand not only current requirements but also future needs to ensure that production is constantly looking ahead to meet requirements. 

· Know the quality requirements for each job and ensure that they are met at each step of the process. 

· Communicate effectively with Plant Management when there is an issue outside of their control that may affect quality, delivery, or productivity. 

· Monitor Production levels throughout the shift using visual controls. Make necessary adjustments promptly to ensure daily output goals are met consistently. 

· Escalate and recommend long term fixes to Production Manager and Plant Manager. 

· Ability to suggest improvements to Standard Work Instructions and update them. 

· Assist in the selection or promotion of employees in the workforce. 

· Provide discipline for infractions of safety, attendance or work rules up to and including termination. 

· Resolve issues between employees and their peers in a manner acceptable to all involved. 

· Provide analysis of factors which limit the team meeting their objectives and suggest/develop ideas TO RESOLVE them. ? 

· Provides coaching and direction for areas of improvements to each team member they are directly managing.? 

· Develop, deliver, and support delivery of business improvement change initiatives. 

· Develop and contribute towards improvement standards in line with best practices.? 

· Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors. 

· Implement and support cultural change across the organization and drive business improvement. 

· Assists with the implementation of Lean Manufacturing goals and strategies for improving the operations and processes within the organization. 

SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:

· Understands and strictly enforces Standard Work Instructions and Procedures. 

· Ensures all employees follow safety, attendance, and work rules without exception. 

· Coaches his/her team on performance issues and rewards excellence. 

· Communicates objectives of the business to employees. 

· Provides quarterly feedback and performs annual reviews on current employees.?

• Bachelor’s degree is preferred.? 

• Ability to achieve departmental, plant and corporate goals for safety, quality, service, housekeeping, and productivity. 

• Ability to maintain exceptional employee morale by portraying a positive image of the company and its improvement programs.

• Will work with purchasing to ensure proper levels of inventory are maintained but not exceeded. 

• Responsible for training employees on production methods and work rules. 

• Experience leading in a Lean Manufacturing environment.?
