Collins Aerospace Internship Program is one of the cornerstones of the company's college recruiting strategy. Students hired into this program represent our pipeline of talent - our future executives! This program provides an opportunity for a short term work assignment for students pursuing degree programs directly related to our core business.

The intern will work on some if not all of the following projects for the military ground vehicle group. 

Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run May/June- December  (including the Fall semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).

What You Will Do:

• Systems requirements management including introduction to DOORS tool.

• Design scripts using Perl/DXL for automating processes.

• Systems level testing including but not limited to testing of firmware, testing of hardware, environmental testing (temperature, pressure, humidity, shock).

• Firmware configuration management including introduction to Polarion Life Cycle Management Tool.

• Provide any additional support to the military ground vehicle engineering group as needed.

What You Will Learn:

• Hands on experience with automatic fire extinguishing systems used with military ground vehicles.

• How rugged environment and safety features of these systems translate into system requirements used for design.

• Internal processes used to ensure quality of system components shipped to customer.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline

• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite of programs

• Great teamwork and communication skills

• Mechanical Aptitude

• Baja or Formula SAE participation

• Experience with trailer or vehicle harnessing

• Experience with 12/24 volt systems
