Description

This is a full-time, direct placement role at Frank M. Booth.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage a group of project managers and project engineers on the execution of projects, mentoring and training those employees. Work with the estimating & engineering groups in order to coordinate proposals for new projects. Ultimately responsible for the financial outcome of the projects pursued/executed by their teams.

• Project Execution Duties: o Ensure all FMB contractual commitments are met.

o Work with the assigned PM’s and PE’s to execute the work professionally and ensure the clients expectations are met or exceeded.

i. Review labor productivity and job cost progress.

ii. Provide constructability and technical guidance as needed.

iii. Monitor and review subcontractor performance across projects.

iv. Provide change management oversight and guidance – ensure consistency across projects.


o Trains and develops PM’s and PE’s on best practices.

o Encourages inter-disciplinary activities and actions between the operations group and other company segments.

i. Engage existing clients with “what’s our next project for you?” questions.

o Ensure GC and owner expectations are met, and correct when not.


• Sales/Marketing Duties:

o Lead marketing personnel for FMB, responsible to the company for feeding upcoming projects.

o Attends weekly sales meeting to report and follow up on project pursuits/opportunities and new client acquisition.

o Pricing/Strategic Sales:

i. Works with estimating manager & estimating group to put together budgets/estimates on the projects, including initial budgets, estimate updates and final pricing.

ii. Responsible for final proposal language and responses to the client.

iii. All scoping/procurement objectives/deliverables to the clients are the responsibility of the Px.


o Design Build/Design Assist Project Design Development:

i. Works directly with engineering for project setup/design development.

o Risk assessment/requirements:

i. Responsible for all contract negotiations, and contract terms.

• Strategic Duties:

o Participate actively with the management group on the focus of the company, market segments and profitability across the spectrum of work we pursue.

o Develop and lead the company into new business areas: geographic, work type, delivery type.

o Part of task force committees developed to solve specific company needs.

• Client Interface Expectations:

o Promote FMB to owners, developers, GC’s, architects etc. by:

i. Attending trade shows and other affinity groups

ii. Participating in industry organizations, especially those that involve GC’s, owners & architects

Requirements

Job Specifications:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers

• Excellent computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Bluebeam

• Skilled in numerous project management and construction management software including Primavera (P6), Microsoft Project, Procore, Prolog, and Vista by Viewpoint

• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and able to communicate with clients, senior engineers, detailers, along with union personnel

• Proficient in budget creation/management, scheduling, estimating, preconstruction, and construction management.

• Multiple years in project management.

• Knowledge of estimating (preferred to work in estimating for a period of time but not required.)

• Knowledge of engineering (preferred to work in engineering department for a period of time but not required.

• Works well with all departments, including direct leadership over project management group.

• High school diploma or GED required, 4 year degree in construction management or mechanical engineering preferred

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards


• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
