ASM is looking for an experienced and driven Commodity Manager to join our Commodity team, BTP-Fabrication. In this strategic, individual contributor role, you will take full ownership of sourcing and managing suppliers globally for the Commodity/Region assigned. You’ll be responsible for supplier selection, performance management, cost negotiations, and ensuring continuity of supply for critical components and assemblies used in our advanced semiconductor equipment.

Responsibilities:
- Lead global sourcing strategies for manufactured components and assemblies to support business objectives in cost, quality, lead time, compliance and scalability.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard contract manufacturers that align with ASM’s quality standards, manufacturing capabilities, and long-term goals.
- Drive and manage supplier performance on delivery, quality, cost, and responsiveness. Implement improvement plans and ensure compliance with contracts and KPIs.
- Lead complex commercial negotiations with contract manufacturing partners to achieve optimal pricing, favorable terms, and service-level agreements.
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and NPI teams to support product development, ramp readiness, and build-to-print alignment.
- Assess supply risks and execute mitigation strategies, including dual sourcing, capacity expansion planning, and proactive issue resolution.
- Engage with existing and potential suppliers to enhance capabilities, optimize processes, and ensure alignment with ASM’s technology and production roadmaps.
- Act as the point of contact for operational issues with manufacturers—including pricing discrepancies, delivery delays, and quality concerns—ensuring resolution and closure.
- Stay current with industry trends, regional manufacturing capabilities, and market conditions. Provide insight to guide sourcing strategies and supplier decisions.
- Lead Sourcing/Commodity initiatives assigned to drive supply chain health and risk mitigations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering or other related field. Master’s preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in Procurement, Sourcing, or Commodity Management, preferably in a high-tech or semiconductor manufacturing environment.
- Strong background in build-to-print commodities; Machining, Sheet Metal & Surface treatment processes
- Proven success in complex supplier negotiations and contract management.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Competent with business systems for Sourcing & Procurement work e.g SAP & Teamcenter
- Ability to work with data and drive/explain data driven decisions and strategies.
