The Job You Will Perform:
The Area Maintenance Manager is a key role in the mill maintenance organization. This position is responsible for application of employee safety, precision maintenance, workflow, reliability, maintenance efficiency and cost effectiveness of repair activities. Area maintenance First Line Leaders (FLL) and Planners report to this position and the AMM will work with and mentor this team to deliver exceptional results. Each year we target to deliver 3% YOY reduction in maintenance cost as well as 15% YOY reduction in unscheduled downtime. Maintenance FLLs and planners are also a part of the process area Manufacturing Work System (MWS) teams and the AMM will monitor the effectiveness of their reports as they function in these MWS teams. The AMM will partner with the other Area Maintenance Managers to best enable resource sharing in support of our high performance work system model. Additional components in this role will include:
- Accountable for leading safety indicators toward YOY injury-free performance
- Ensure area supports environmental equipment health to prevent environmental permit violations
- Support team training, personal development, and performance management
- Ensure systems are in place to deliver precision maintenance, tracking, and reduction in repeat work
- Manage 5-year plan and input into capital plan
- Work with Business Unit Managers, Maintenance Managers, and the Lead Team to establish the maintenance budget for the areas
- Ensure planning quality and approve orders
- Ensure MWS Metrics are reviewed and communicated
- Audit area MWS effectiveness
- Act as a key member of outage planning, execution, and the critique process
- Monitor and manage progress toward annual outage planning and preparation
- Partner with the Reliability team for RFCA
The Skills You Will Bring:
- B.S. in Engineering – Equivalent experience will be considered
- 10+ years Maintenance/Engineering experience
- 5+ years supervisory experience and/or management
