SUMMARY

Intermech, Inc is currently looking for an experienced Accountant located in Richland, WA with a minimum 1-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a Construction environment. The position will start with 30 hours per week, moving to a 40-hour per week position. Applicants with Military experience are encouraged to apply.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.                      

  • Support Controller in the finance and accounting activities of the Company, including timely issuance of monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP, maintenance of regular cost reports, periodic budgets and forecasts, accurate processing of accounting transactions, and such other duties and responsibilities as come within the purview of this position
  • Perform financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections
  • Analysis of job cost and profit/loss of ongoing projects and assist with the preparation of monthly Work in Progress (WIP) reports.
  • Assist with general accounting, treasury, and tax obligations.
  • Weekly AP Processing and Coding
  • Compile, maintain and produce cash management and forecast reports using internal cash management applications for distribution to management.
  • Review expenses, supplier invoices, time sheets, overhead charges, account totals, etc.
  • Ensure procurement of bonding and insurance as required by company policy and project contracts.
  • Work with project managers to close out project accounts upon project completion.
  • ESG Reporting
  • Escalate critical and/or sensitive issues to Controller with recommendation for resolution
  • Maintain confidentiality of company information
  • Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors
  • Identifies and recommend updates to accounting software, systems, and procedures.
  • Follow internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for activities such as payroll administration, cash and credit management, and accounting.
  • Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly accounting close and preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Insurance reporting and maintenance
  • Perform additional assignments as required by the company or as directed by CFO or President.
  • Other duties as needed.

 POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting or currently pursuing degree
  • 1 - 5 years working in accounting and financial role preferably in a construction environment.

 COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel formulas and formatting.
  • Proficient with Accounting software. Viewpoint/Vista Software Experience Preferred
  • Familiarity with Windows based operating systems and web-based applications.
  • Ability to create, file and manage electronic documents.
