Chelsea Piers Kids (CP Kids) is a sunny and spacious early learning center for children ages 3 months to 5 years. The mission of CP Kids is to create a learning environment in which young children learn through play, actively developing their language, cognitive, social/emotional, and motor skills. CP Kids offers students additional and unique opportunities for learning, fun, and community building all year round.
About the Opportunity: Chelsea Piers is seeking to hire a full-time Assistant Infant Teacher to join our CP Kids team starting immediately. The Assistant Infant Teacher will work Monday-Friday from 10am-6pm. With occasional shifts in schedule as required.
As the Assistant Infant Teacher, you will be expected to:
Work as part of a teaching team and help to plan and implement curriculum
Interact with parents and students in a professional manner both verbally and via email and other online methods
Understand and work with parents to help them grow and able to answer questions (i.e. eating, schedules, sleep, etc.)
Feed, change, care for and stimulate infant growth and development.
Be responsible for the safety of students both inside the school and out in the neighborhood
Help children gain independence and self-help skills
Play and engage with children and model appropriate language and social interaction

QualificationsAbout You:
You are punctual, dependable, professional, and courteous. You are passionate about working with infant/toddler age children and can work collaboratively with colleagues and build relationships with families. You will have:
Bachelor’s degree
Prior experience teaching children 3-22 months (preferred)
Excellent references
Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
Strong understanding of the developmental needs of young children
Ability to run, play, and be active with students
Ability to lift children in and out of cribs, onto changing table and up and down stairs (able to lift and carry 40 pounds)
Ability to be creative, nurturing, and willing to work as part of a team
Ability to remain calm, flexible, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
