The Role:
Reporting to the Head of Marketing, The Senior Director, Thought Leader Liaison, Strategy and Partnerships will be a pivotal leader in Nuvalent’s growing Commercial organization. This individual will spearhead the development and execution of the thought leader strategy as the company prepares for the market launch of neladalkib and zidesamtinib. Acting as a trusted advisor to Nuvalent leadership, the Senior Director will provide strategic guidance on thought leader relationships and partnerships, ensuring alignment with brand objectives. This individual will also be an integral member of the Commercial and Marketing leadership teams, contributing subject matter expertise and supporting the execution of brand strategies to ensure launch readiness. This role reports to the Vice President, Marketing.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and lead a comprehensive engagement strategy for lung cancer thought leaders, including academic researchers, digital opinion leaders, and other key influencers.
• Collaborate with internal teams to implement commercial strategies and manage interactions with key accounts, ensuring alignment with Nuvalent’s business goals.
• Cultivate and maintain strong, trusting relationships with Thought Leaders, ensuring they are well-informed about Nuvalent’s activities, portfolio, and strategic direction.
• Capture valuable therapeutic and competitive insights from Thought Leaders and other key stakeholders to guide the development of Nuvalent’s portfolio.
• Work closely with internal teams to execute commercial launch strategies, managing interactions with Thought Leaders throughout the process.
• Identify and engage promotional speakers to represent Nuvalent at regional and national events.
• Lead strategic initiatives, such as Thought Leader archetyping, mapping, and engagement planning.
• Partner with Legal and Compliance teams to develop and enforce guidelines and processes for compliant customer engagement.
• Lead and execute Advisory Boards in partnership with cross-functional teams.
• Develop a robust process for capturing and disseminating insights from Thought Leaders, aligning with the brand strategy.
• Build and execute the Thought Leader Engagement Congress strategy.
Build and lead a team of Thought Leader Engagement Leads, ensuring execution of Nuvalent’s brand strategy and tactics. This team will facilitate insights gathering, third-party educational programs, regional advisory meetings, roundtables, Congress symposia, and global speaking engagement opportunities (e.g., symposia, speaker tours).

• Proficient in multichannel marketing directed towards HCPs and patients, including digital, media, peer-to-peer, congresses, and personal promotion tactics.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree. MBA or equivalent degree preferable
• 15+ years biopharma experience including oncology launch experience
• 5+ years of commercial oncology experience in the U.S. market, with expertise in sales, marketing, or related functions.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and communicate across all organizational levels.
• Proven track record of recruiting, onboarding, managing, coaching, and retaining top talent, with strong leadership and mentorship skills.
• Strong understanding of analytics and operations tools/technologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation abilities.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% domestically
