Data Platform Engineer

We are looking for self-driven data enthusiasts who thrive on building platforms and serving analytics customers! Our Data Platform team is the backbone of our Data & Analytics operations, creating a seamless foundation for analytics across the company. As part of the Data Platform team, your role is to build self-service capabilities to allow Data Analysts, Data Engineers and Data Scientists deliver value faster to the business.

Your responsibilities:

• Build the Data Platform which allows Brenntag to speed up time to Insight and enable quick Experimentation
• Continuously monitor and help to improve Developer Experience and decrease Cognitive Load
• Collaborate with Product & Engineering team
• Build Data Platform as a Product

What we expect from you:

• A Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology or related field
• 5+ years data engineering experience Strong Systems Design skills
• Experience developing software using Python and Infrastructure as a Code

• Hands on experience with Databricks or any other modern Data Intelligence Platform
• Hands on experience developing CI/CD pipelines
• Learning mindset
• Curiosity
• Customer focus

Nice to have:

• You have experience with Terraform/DBT/PowerBI/Airflow/HVR/Kubernetes
• You have experience with Machine Learning stack
• You know collaboration techniques for public decision making
• DevOps is not just a buzzword for you
• You know how to build systems which last
