Description

Described Duties:
1. Work cooperatively with Northwest Health Services providers, supervisors, peers, and subordinates to carry out the goals and objectives of NHS according to governing body requirements and established internal policies and procedures.
2. Will treat others respectfully whether it is a patient, fellow employee, member of management, customer, vendor or visitor to our premises.
3. Assess, diagnose, and evaluate clinical symptoms, developmental and personality disorders, psychosocial stressors, and substance abuse issues. Address functional impact of medical conditions as necessary and appropriate.
4. Develop a treatment plan based on the individual clients needs and resources. Connect the client with community resources as need is indicated.
5. Coordinate professionals involved in patient care to ensure interdisciplinary collaboration and continuity of services.
6. Possess comprehensive knowledge of current community resources for supplementary treatment of clients and make referrals. Be available for consultation with other clinic staff.
7. Provide a continuum of short- and long-term psychotherapy services to individuals, couples, families, and groups, based on individualized treatment plans.
8. Function as an integral part of a multidisciplinary department.
9. Practice within the scope of licensure and in a manner that is consistent with Northwest Health Services credentialing and privileging policies.
10. Maintain an accurate billing and coding practice.
11. Use telehealth equipment efficiently and effectively to complete diagnostic evaluations and provide follow-up services to Northwest Behavioral Health patients as needed.
12. Participate in quality improvement activities including quarterly peer reviews.
13. Maintain compliance with Human Resources file. Complete training and education requirements in a timely manner.
14. Maintain good communication and collaborative relationships with referring physicians and other staff and recommend additional supports for patients as needed.
15. Complete accurate and timely documentation in the EHR. Maintain pertinent patient information in the medical record.
16. Carry out all above mentioned duties with the highest professional standards, including adherence to patient confidentiality.
17. Assist in screening and assessment of risk in crisis situations.
18. Develop safety plans and intervene in crisis situations.
19. Offer in-service education programs and serve as a resource to the medical staff and the community as needed.
20. Represent Northwest Health to the community at large in a professional and helpful manner.
21. Must comply with the provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996.
22. Attend staff meetings as requested.
23. Perform related work as required.

Essential Job Functions:
1. Provide health care services efficiently in a health care environment, physically assist patients as needed, exhibiting fine motor skills, precise eye/hand coordination, walk, talk, hear, see, react, kneel, lift, pull and push up to 50 pounds.
2. Assess, treat, and diagnose a wide variety of patients/clients with accuracy, proficiency, and efficiency at an advanced professional level.
3. Utilize evidence based treatment modalities to assist in the treatment of clients.
4. Utilize critical thinking skills to interpret a variety of complex situations.
5. Communicate with patients and office staff with tact and patience utilizing good communication skills.
6. Must possess cognitive skills necessary to understanding medical terminology and problem solve.
7. Must possess basic computer skills.
8. Possess light typing skills and basic computer knowledge. Must demonstrate accuracy, proficiency, and efficiency.
9. Perform effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
10. Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
11. Maintain professional appearance and demeanor at all times.

Qualifications:
1. Must possess a License to practice in the State of Missouri, either as a Licensed Masters or Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Professional Counselor.
