Quality Technician Specialist I

About the role

Do you have a keen eye for detail? We are looking for you! As a Quality Technician Specialist I, you'll calibrate electronic test measuring and signal generating equipment to conform to set standards, as well as test, calibrate, adjust, and maintain electromechanical, mechanical, optical, pneumatic, hydro mechanical, and pressure-type measuring and indicating instruments. You'll be responsible for the monitoring, maintenance, calibration and reporting of Precision Measuring Equipment and Ground Support Equipment. You'll maintain calibration and recall schedules that accommodate availability of assets for continued Program support, as well as assist pre-operational and periodic maintenance requirements and checklists. You'll work from basic schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform routine testing, checkout, and trouble-shooting functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily activities for all aspects of non-conforming material management.  Focus on processing NCs while prioritizing the “Return to Vendor” processes
  • Promptly communicate issues and challenges with Quality Engineering for fast evaluation and disposition
  • Maintain NC documentation up to date.  Participate in training evaluation and deployment 
  • Participate in Operations and Engineering activities from program proposal through product sell-off
  • Reach with ease across functions to engage key stakeholder in achieving reduced NC life-cycle
  • Work with Quality Engineering on Quality Assurance procedures and inspection plans
  • Use various apps/tools to collect and evaluate data, to assess performance, identify adverse trends and communicate with various parties for satisfactory corrective actions
  • Derive quality requirements from requirements lists, contracts, Terms and Conditions (T&Cs), Statement of Work (SOW) for compliance and agility purposes
  • Support Quality Engineering with Quality Requirement Lists (QRL) and Quality Inspection Plans
  • Apply Quality Codes to Purchase Requests
  • Support internal audits to ensure compliance through program execution
  • Interface with Customer and Government Quality Representatives such as DCMA or Source Inspectors, on program quality issues and inspection schedules
  • Support Product Assurance Inspection groups as needed
  • Support program, process and procedure audits of the Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement projects
  • Develop and nurture good relations with other functional groups, act as a liaison between Program Management, Operations and Quality
  • Understanding of the Non-Conforming material management (NC) system
  • Support with Corrective Action Request Management
  • Manage PA - Quality Documentation and maintain it up to date



Must-haves:

  • Associate's Degree in a related field of study
    • Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
    • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
  • Typically 0-1 or more years of relevant experience in the same industry
  • Ability to understand and interpret technical electrical and mechanical drawings, parts lists and test procedures and most importantly processing non-conforming material from identification through disposition and closure
  • Must have testing and troubleshooting skills
  • Must have ability to work with standard test equipment, including Calibration and Tool Control
  • Knowledge with ISO Policy and Procedure, and The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and Manufactures Specifications

Preferred:

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001/AS 9100 standards and compliance to QMS
  • IPC 610, 620, J-STD-01Certifications, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T)
