About This Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Business Partner within our Fire & Security Segment supporting the Global Commercial Fire Business Unit. The ideal candidate will have experience leading a team of finance professionals supporting a global business. This position will direct the finance function for Global Commercial Fire’s $1.1B business unit as well as partner with the Global Commercial Fire VP to drive global & business strategy and product management & engineering for the Global portfolio.  This portfolio has presence globally, with major sub businesses in Europe, Asia, and North America.  Products range from commercial fire detection, wireless detection, aspirating smoke detection, and much more.

The role provides financial guidance to business unit leadership to achieve annual financial performance targets, ensures compliance with internal controls and accounting policies/procedures, leads the development of accurate and timely forecasts and annual plans, and supports the global strategy and new product development for our Global Commercial Fire portfolio.

The opportunity is a critical and comprehensive leadership role within Fire & Security’s fast-paced and growing segment.  It requires a self-directed leader for achieving and exceeding financial performance, business growth, and meeting financial controls compliance objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing financial planning, forecasting, and operational analysis

  • Developing a comprehensive annual & strategic business plan

  • Business partnering and decision support

  • Engaging product line and operational managers continuously to ensure that financial commitments are achieved

  • Accountable for adherence to accounting and financial standards, procedures and policy as well as creating and developing an ethical leadership team

  • Evaluating capital, new product development programs, and other investments

  • Implementing Carrier financial policies and ensuring all reporting entities are in compliance with those standards

  • Prepare and present business reviews as required

  • 15% Travel is required.

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration

  • 10+ years of demonstrated financial and accounting expertise in senior level positions

  • 5+ years supervising and directing professional and managerial associates

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years demonstrated operations experience

  • MBA Degree and/or CPA preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to meet specific and measurable goals

  • Strong interpersonal and functional skill sets required including excellent communication and presentation skills
