Maintenance and Engineering Manager, Care Chemicals, BASF - Spartanburg, SC (Onsite)

 

We are seeking a professional to be responsible for providing leadership, direction, and focus for the maintenance, contractor, and project engineering group at the site. As a leader you will be responsible for ensuring a Zero Incident Mindset culture concerning Environmental, Health, and Safety performance. You will drive continuous improvement, working to achieve the best-in-class capital project development, execution, maintenance reliability, and organizational performance for your teams. You will develop a one team culture for the department, site, and global business unit.

Formula for success...

 

  • Possessing preferably a minimum of 5 years of supervisory/leadership responsibilities, you will provide leadership and supervision of all maintenance and engineering resources, including a reliability engineer, process engineer, project managers, and a maintenance manager. 
  • Any experience you may have in batch manufacturing and/or capital project management will be a valued asset as you formulate and manage the maintenance and capital budgets in coordination with business and site leadership.
  • Your strong track record in organizational and departmental leadership and effective interpersonal skills will serve you well as you serve as an active member of the site leadership team.
  • Your demonstrated capability to manage and streamline multiple priorities and stakeholders will be essential as you maintain an active working relationship with the corporate engineering Hub and the BASF technical community.
  • Leveraging your Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline with preferably at least 10 years of relevant work experience, you will champion adherence to the Technical Community best practices for maintenance, as well as promote continuous work process improvements to enhance plant availability and reduce plant repair factor. 
  • Relying on your prior experience with continuous improvement, change management initiatives, and Root Cause Analysis, you will collaborate with operations to accomplish tasks while minimizing disruption to production. 
  • Demonstrating your strong project management ability, you will manage and execute capital projects within the BASF guidelines. This includes overseeing specific aspects of the site investment programs including project management, project assignment, resource planning, goal setting, and priorities.
