Your Role

The Connect product development team in S&P Global is looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join us. You will be a key member / leader of a small DevOps-focused team within the larger development team for the Connect project.

Key responsibilities include:

• Infrastructure automation
• CI/CD pipeline maintenance and development
• Monitoring the health of the system and reacting to problems
• Helping build and maintain high quality cloud-based solutions
• Participating in shaping the vision of future Connect infrastructure in AWS
• Constantly improving your skills, with special emphasis on AWS and related technologies
• Mentoring junior members of the DevOps team

About You

You are an experienced DevOps engineer, a dedicated problem solver willing to dive deep in search of the their root causes. You are also an architect and visionary of the cloud based solution. You are avid for automation and you want to apply it in all areas of the project. You are also fascinated by the cloud computing, especially AWS. By working with the rest of the product team, you constantly increase your knowledge about the system and its infrastructure and you use that knowledge to propose and implement improvements. Your enthusiasm and willing to learn make you a great team member and colleague.

Ideally you also have experience in negotiating technical requirements with the Infrastructure / Architects and your peers

Key Qualifications and Skills:

• Cloud computing, especially AWS
• Docker containers and orchestration tools (Kubernetes)
• Terraform
• Scripting (e.g. Bash, Powershell)
• Knowledge of automation tools (especially Ansible)
• Networking experience (TCP/IP, HTTP)
• CI/CD tools (e.g. GitHub Enterprise, Azure DevOps Pipelines, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy)
• Monitoring and metrics gathering tools (e.g. ELK Stack, PagerDuty)
• Windows Server and Linux administrative tasks to support systems running on those servers
• Fluent command of English and excellent communication skills
• Great work ethics and enthusiasm to learn
• Ability to work under stress not sacrificing quality
• 5 years of experience in DevOps

In Addition, The Following Skills Are Helpful:

• Strong interpersonal and soft skills
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (MS SQL Server, Postgres, MarkLogic)
• Programming background (e.g. .NET, Python)
• Security and certificates
• 2 years of experience in Senior DevOps position
