Job Description

EAG Laboratories, a Eurofins company, provides engineering testing services to leading edge tech companies in a diverse range of industries and business sectors who design, manufacture, or incorporate electronics for tomorrow’s technology driven world. 

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our Santa Clara, CA lab. This position is an opportunity to troubleshoot a variety of electromechanical test systems.  

The Maintenance Technician has the critical role of ensuring test equipment is running and with minimal production downtime. In this role you will:

  • Perform in-depth repair and maintenance of all testers and associated equipment
  • Implement and oversee the execution of the preventive maintenance program, Repair or replace control devices as required
  • Perform inspections, calibration and tester adjustments as scheduled
  • Identify maintenance-related deficiencies and provides timely resolution plans
  • Tool handling, safety, and control
  • Provides technical training to test operators and subordinates
  • Advises and reports to management on overall condition of equipment

*Work Schedule: Monday to Friday; 12midnight to 8:30am*

Qualifications

Education and Experience: 

  • AA or BS degree in related field or 5+ years of relevant experience. Post-secondary education and /or a technical trade certificate are an asset.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:

  • Relevant experience in troubleshooting semiconductor test equipment. 
  • Having basic understand the test floor operation: Tester, Test program, test data, handler, prober, Load board, Probe card, sockets
  • Hand on ATE equipment such as Teradyne J750, Ultraflex or Advantest 93K.
  • Hand on Handlers and Probers: Seiko Epson handler, Opus2/3, TSK or TEL, pogo & direct dock.
  • Familiar with Windows OS, Unix/Linux OS environment, file structures.
  • Test Equipment: PM/Calibration
  • Temperature controller: Basic theory
  • ESD basic theory.
  • Test system setup, repair, calibration and reconfiguration

Note: This role is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time.
  • Ability to continuously operate a personal computer or lab equipment for extended periods of time (4 or more hours).
  • Ability to operate a keyboard and other lab equipment, use a telephone, access file cabinets and other items stored at various levels, including overhead
  • Ability to communicate clearly and understandably ensure an accurate exchange of information in normal conversational distance, over the telephone, and in a group setting.
  • Ability to handle small and fragile devices with tweezers and /or fingers.
  • Require close distance visual acuity with or without correction (Glasses, Contacts, etc.)
  • Must be willing and able to wear PPE such as hard-hat, steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, laboratory coat and/or any other devices or equipment that is required.
  • Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions in the context of a workflow, ability to communicate with visitors, ability to complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota.
  • Ability to move equipment or items up to 50 lbs.
