✨The core mission of the QA Automation Engineer

Welcome to the world of QA Automation Engineer. Your mission involves mastering the art of automating testing, while ensuring the quality and performance of our products. Equip yourself with the arsenal of automating tests and automation scripts, while researching and crafting new spells as tools to optimize day-to-day tasks and work efficiency.

🍺 The fellowship you’ll be joining:

Thou art summoned to join a mystical fellowship of ten (Head of QA, 6 QA Analysts, 3 QA SE). As part of this noble quest, you’ll join the CTF Team, share your knowledge with the product manager, technical lead, and software engineers. Finally you will share your wisdom with the Head of QA while having open communications with those who seek the fate of our products.

⚔️ Technology tools & weapons you’ll be using:

• Java (any of C#/PHP/Python/Bash is a plus) -> To use as basic tools to manipulate the rules of reality.
• Cucumber, Selenium (any of Playwright/JMeter/Postman is a plus) -> For crafting mystical tests and enhancing efficiency. 
• HTTP/CSS/JS -> For conjuring and crafting new spells.
• Jenkins (Any of Docker/Networking/Unix is a plus)  -> The magic artefacts for safeguarding the mystical grounds to operate those frameworks.
  
  

🚀 The adventures that await you after becoming a QA Automation Engineer at Hack The Box:

• End-to-End & Performance Testing: Mastery in executing spells that encompass the entire software journey and ensure its magical performance.
• Search for mystery artifacts: Identifying cases for automation and discussing them with QA Analysts and Product Owners.
• Protect the magical guild: Keep safe and maintain the current enchanted infrastructure, which supports the automation runs and the creation of new spells and tools.
• Sorcerer's Freedom: Embracing the liberty to propose the integration of new magical tools and processes for testing purposes and to increase efficiency.
• Alliance with the Order of Quality Assurance: Collaborating seamlessly with fellow sorcerers within the Quality Assurance Guild to ensure magical software perfection.

🏆 Skills, knowledge, and experience points required to unlock the role of QA Automation Engineer at Hack The Box:

• Hands-on Experience: Minimum year 1 year delving into the mystical realms of test automation or any relevant field.
• Automation Skills: Proficient in scripting and automating using a structured spell language such as Java or C#.
• Mastery in OOP and working with design patterns.
• Ability to identify repetitive mystical issue patterns and propose solutions, processes or tools to overcome them.
• Familiarity with the magic arts of HTML/CSS & JS will be highly appreciated
• Mastery with CI/CD platforms and Unix will be an advantage
• Problem Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot complex magical systems issues and implement effective spells, tools and solutions to be able overcome them.
• Collaborative Mindset: Adept in mystic collaboration and communication, possessing the power to harmonise communication across realms.

• Level 1: Like in any game, you start as a Noob. Level one’s objective: submit your application. After applying, you unlock the Script Kiddie rank!

• Level 2: Now you'll meet the Talent Acquisition team. Level’s objective: highlight your past achievements, ambitions, and values.

• Level 3: As a Hacker at level 3, you’ll unlock the “boss level”, which involves meeting the hiring manager. Level’s objective: connect with the hiring manager and share with them your achievements.

• Level 4: Now you’re a Pro Hacker! Level’s objective: complete an assignment that aligns with day-to-day job-related tasks and responsibilities.

• Level 5: Congratulations, you're now an Elite Hacker! Not many reach this level 💪. Level’s objective: have a constructive, final conversation with senior leadership to explore the role and your future at HTB.
