JOB SUMMARY
ONEOK is looking for a Staff Accountant that will perform as an operational accountant in the Refined Products and Crude business segment.Responsibilities will include:
- Revenue Recognition: Monitor revenue streams from storage fees, throughput tariffs, and other sources, ensuring accurate and timely recognition in accordance with accounting standards.
- Inventory Management: Coordinate with operations teams to reconcile inventory records, track movements of petroleum products.
- Administer revenue contracts including tariff billing, terminalling and ancillary services.
- Perform financial closing procedures, variance analysis, and balance sheet account analysis.
- Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure account balances are correct and adequately supported.
- Actively engage with internal customers, developing strong relationships with commercial to better understand and anticipate business needs.
- Compliance and Audit: Assist in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls and support external audits by providing documentation and explanations as needed.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial operations, develop recommendations, and assist in implementing changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, including operations, supply chain, and risk management, to gather relevant financial information and support business initiatives.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Prepare various journal entries, records, regulatory reports, and budget information
Performs accounting functions related to customer accounting and accounts receivable reconciliations
Assist with preparation of tax returns and supporting tax calculations
Verify and/or perform calculations including, but not limited to:
Ratios
Percentages and discounts
Depreciation
Allocations
Account charges
Financial ratios
Utilize applicable micro and/or mainframe applications to assist with preparation and/or verification of information including, but not limited to:
Forecasted versus actual expenses
Governmental/regulatory reports
Financial reports
Quarterly income statements
Corporate tax returns
Provide information and assistance to auditors, governmental/regulatory staff, managers, employees, customers, and others concerning accounting activities
Education
Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, other related field, or an equivalent combination of formal education and the following job related experience:
Work Experience
Experience in use and function of office equipment including computers and applicable software
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of: standard accounting methods and procedures
Knowledge of: spreadsheet and word processing software applications, financial accounting and reporting standards and processes, corporate tax functions and preparation of returns, economic forecasting/modeling and corporate budget functions
Ability to: apply math and algebraic formulas
